One School, One Book Title Reveal!
Brought to you by Arts in Education and Library PTA-allocated funds, students in PreK–2nd and 3rd–5th grades enjoyed a special Dogs of Character assembly from Healing Species Texas this past Friday in celebration of our school’s big book reveal, The Unlikely Tale of Chase and Finnegan!
Healing Species brought rescued dogs and their handlers to campus to teach students about character, compassion, empathy, courage, perseverance, resilience and respect through the real-life stories of rescue dogs. Students had the opportunity to see how these dogs’ experiences can teach us important lessons about kindness, overcoming challenges and looking beyond appearances. The dogs also interacted with students throughout the assembly, making the lessons especially memorable and engaging.
It was a wonderful way to connect the themes of our new book with real-life lessons about empathy, character and the power of rescue!
