Get Involved at Zilker!!

Do you want to be more involved in our school community and the school. Check out these two AMAZING opportunities to directly impact the education of a child and our school as a whole!! These are two of our favorite programs that our PTA helps us facilitate on campus with students. Teachers love it, Students love it, Admin loves it, Volunteers love it - you can't get much better than that!!

1. We are excited to introduce our new Literacy Cooperative at Zilker Elementary!

The Literacy Cooperative will focus on the reading and writing professional development interests of teachers and volunteer-led reading or writing practice sessions for students.

We would love your support volunteering with students to practice early reading skills in Kindergarten & 1st grade! Please complete our volunteer survey to learn more about the program and ways that you can help!

Do you have one hour per week to play math games and demonstrate some really fun math fact strategies to students?!

2. Please join our Math Fact Fluency Volunteer Team and support our wonderful community school!

What is the Math Facts Fluency Program?

Math facts are the quick recall of basic addition/subtraction and multiplication/division facts. Many children require more practice time to improve their fluency, which research shows frees up their working memory so they are better able to focus their efforts on problem- solving and new skill-building. Fluency is built by reviewing number-sense-based strategies and reinforced by playing simple games. We need more volunteers so we can support more of our students!

How to Get Involved! Read more about the program and complete the volunteer form HERE!
